In my many visits and events across Europe, I’ve seen that we have the same talent over here – and could start seeing the same kind of results, too.
Given the huge role these innovations could play in rebuilding European growth, I think it is in everyone’s interest to give entrepreneurs and inventors extra support.
Like everywhere else, Europe’s start-ups, however bright their ideas, need access to resources – financing, visibility, and access to other entrepreneurs to swap ideas or get mentoring.
In Europe these assets are not as easily available as in “the Valley”, and they are spread out across geographic locations. What’s more, Europe doesn’t offer the same uniform market potential of the US.
But I want to deliver start-up success right here in Europe. And we’re organising a competition for the new EU-based start-ups with the best bright ideas – the 12 best selected will get the valuable chance to network with influencers, potential partners, mentors and venture capital.
