ENGINEERINGNET.EU -- Through the 'Vulcanus in Europe' programme of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation companies and research centres in the European Union can offer a Japanese student an 8-month traineeship.

Numerous European companies wish to access the Japanese market but lack the means and the opportunity. The Vulcanus in Europe programme is aimed at European industrial companies which are seeking an initial contact with Japan or wish to develop their business with this country.

By offering the opportunity of hosting Japanese trainees for 8 months, Vulcanus also enables host companies to establish close links with future managers in Japanese industry.

The trainee will be an undergraduate/post-graduate science student from a Japanese university. As well as speaking Japanese and English, (s)he will take a four-month language course in the working language of the host company, before starting the traineeship.

The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is responsible for the actual organisation of the programme.

Application deadline: 30 September 2012.
