ENGINEERINGNET.EU -- A group representing about one hundred Chinese companies will visit Flanders (Belgium) at the end of March 2012 to explore the potential for setting up new ventures.

Key figure of the Chinese group, Feng Jun, CEO of electronics company Aigo Digital Technology had shortlisted suitable locations for a project in Europe.

Ultimately, the Flanders region in Belgium presented the most assets and was selected as the ideal location.

“Belgium is strategically located in Europe,” he explains. “Thanks to its proximity to the EU buildings and NATO headquarters, it offers immediate access to European and international policymakers. Furthermore, the people are highly educated and multilingual.”

With the Chinese interest in mind, a new trading center European Market City will also be built. It will offer a combination of offices and logistics space, with a total surface area of 200,000 square meters. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2013.
