ENGINEERINGNET.EU -- Containers Maes invests about 1 million euro in a new, Finish robotic recycling system, based on artificial intelligence.

Maes, one of the largest container and waste logistics companies in Belgium, considers the chosen ZenRobotics Recycler as 'the best available technology in the field', states Environmental Director Werner Willemoons. What is more, Containers Maes is to run the system on solar power, also a world first.

The system consists of a powerful conveyor belt feeding system, a specialized sensors package, the robotic picking cell, the recovered fractions container bays, and an artificial intelligence- powered control system.

Together the technology enables the sorting of wood, stone, and metal fractions from the incoming construction and demolition waste stream.

"We are thrilled to start the ZenRobotics Recycler revolution in such a highly competitive, central market as Belgium. Containers Maes is an exemplary, futuristic recycling company ready to embrace the future", beams Juho Malmberg, CEO of ZenRobotics, to add “The joy of, say, 10 PhDs leaping and shouting intermittent-concurrently is a sight to behold, too!”
