ENGINEERINGNET.EU -- The award was presented on Wednesday June 6, at the Middle East Facilities Management Annual Gala Dinner in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The award rewards and recognizes the industry’s achievements.

The judges noted that all the entries were of a particularly high standard, but Holsters stood out as strong and showed solid evidence of his achievements.

Holsters is responsible for the technical and civil maintenance on the Burj Khalifa, Dubai, the world’s tallest building (828m).

This is a technically very complex and highly risk sensitive operation, and with the world watching, one that could not fail for fear of disrupting the operation of the building.

“I'm very happy," said Holsters. "This is the recognition for three year's hard work. It was not that easy, and the client was challenging, but this has driven us to put the barrier even higher. My team and I were all very proud that I was nominated, so it's even better to win."

"We hope to get a lot more challenging projects. The next tallest building in the world for example, when it's being built again. We'll hopefully get that project as well and I'll be surely there to do it," he added.

The judges added that credit was due to the FM responsible for keeping the building running from construction to handover to the steady state which it is at now, which acts as testimony to the strength of outsourcing and the FM industry.

The company is responsible for the technical and civil maintenance of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 m). They entered in a joint venture with Fanek Avireal from the United Arab Emirates, which received an award that same night for the greenest FM company of the year.

This unbelievably tall building holds 10.000 inhabitants, office personnel and other staff. It counts 160 floors, or 350.000 m2, and is a project of the real estate group Emaar (winner of the most sustainable initiative of the year), which is closely connected to the royal family of the oil state.

It is responsible for all so-called MEP-installations (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing). Cofely is also in charge of the recruiting and training of the local co-workers.
