ENGINEERINGNET.EU -- The memorandum of understanding and the technology transfer agreement will lead to the creation of a joint venture company between WEG and MTOI, with equal participation, for manufacturing, assembling, installing and marketing of wind turbine generators, as well as operation and maintenance services.
The MTOI Group was founded in 1975 to design, develop and manufacture systems for industrial and process automation solutions for the aeronautics, pulp & paper and energy sectors. The company started operating in the wind sector in 1999 with the development of a multipolar wind turbine.
With this joint venture WEG, a manufacturer of electric motors and related control equipment, will be able to start to meet the growing demand of the Brazilian market, participating in the wind power generation business supplying wind turbine generators with proven technology and high local content,' states the company in a press release.
